Rome, the city of secrets
every lover has shared.
Narrow streets lead to archways
and thoughts of people who cared.

Pictures painted in sunlight,
happy memories of one night.
Secrets whispered in a fountains spray

Step by step we go walking
where those lovers have gone.
Can you still hear them talking
of times they wandered alone?

Some were gay and lighthearted,
others cried when they parted.
Carved initials in the stone,
echoes of a tender song,
the secrets, the secrets of Rome

Every kiss and every tear,
they are all remembered here,
the secrets, the secrets of Rome.

Sophia Loren sings The Secrets Of Rome
Music and lyrics by John Barry
